Electrical Maintenance Technician

Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, this position will be responsible for the inspection, installation, repair, adjustment, construction, modification, calibration, programming and wiring of electrical and electronic apparatus, devices, and circuits of any voltages in the mill or assigned area. The technician will also be responsible for the service of all types of electrical, electronic, pneumatic, electro-mechanical, radio-controlled equipment and any type of integrating, indicating, or graphic electrical, electronic, or mechanical instruments. This position will work in 12 hour rotating shifts in a 24/7 operation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Safety ? Promotes, adheres to, and contributes to plant safety programs and ensures compliance with best maintenance practices (BMP's).
Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations
Install, examine, replace or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fibre-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures and other electrical components
Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance
Maintain, repair, install and test switchgear, transformers, switchboard meters, regulators and reactors
Maintain, repair, test and install electrical motors, generators, alternators, industrial storage batteries and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems
Troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial, electrical and electronic control systems and other related devices
Conduct preventive maintenance programs and keep maintenance records
May install, maintain and calibrate industrial instrumentation and related devices.
Essential Skills:
3 to 5 years' experience in an industrial manufacturing setting.
Electrical Technician or Technologist diploma or Certified Industrial Electrician
Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong work ethic and superior trouble shooting skill.
Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills.
Maintain and troubleshoot automated systems within the manufacturing process.
A proactive individual with a strong preventative maintenance approach.
Demonstrate a strong organizational skills with planning on a daily basis.
Extensive knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC5 and ControlLogix, Ethernet Connect Control Systems, and Allen Bradley AC Drives.
Constant walking and stair climbing.
Must be able to work overtime as needed.
Results driven with a proven problem-solving ability.
Working conditions
All roles require a person to work in working conditions such as heat, cold, snow, rain, ice, frost, humidity, severe storms and so forth. Special working conditions include regular evening and weekend work, shift work, working outdoors, working as a team regardless of challenge, and so forth. Exposure to noise, dirt, grease, water and sawdust is common.
Physical requirements
Physical ability to perform the essential job functions of the position, which includes climbing stairs, navigating catwalks, working at heights up to 30 feet above the ground, lifting up to 50 pounds (from floor to shoulder height), stooping, and bending, carrying up to 50 pounds at least 40 feet.
Work Environment:
The job is within a heavy industrial environment and you may be required to work within various areas of the factory. Dependent upon the area you will work in, the environmental conditions can be hot, cold, dirty, wet, and noisy. The position requires you to work a continuous operation, which will include Saturdays and Sundays. The position also requires you to work overtime as needed. Additionally, safety is our highest priority and safety procedures/guidelines must be adhered to at all times. This includes safety wear such as hearing protection, protective clothing and steel-toed shoes. Punctuality and attendance are extremely important to the success of the operations in general as well as contributing to an overall positive team atmosphere.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
